Q: When I look at winver on my system the version number reads as 'Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158 (Service Pack 2)', I thought 2180 was the final build? Do I have the final version?

A: Yes, 2180 is the final version and if your version stamp reads the same as I have put above you do have the final version installed. The build number of a service pack is only displayed in winver and system properties on a beta or release candidate version. The confusion for Service Pack 2 comes because its compile time stamp is now the only thing visible and that's 21:58/9:58PM, which can make it look like build 2158. When broken down the version stamp means: OS is Build 2600 (Windows XP) with Service Pack 2 Release to Manfacturer level, compiled on the 3rd August 2004 at 9:58PM
